Introduction to Bali - Tanjung Benoa Beach
Bali's Tanjung Benoa sits north of Nusa Dua, a popular base for upmarket visitors to the southern tip of the island. Tanjung Benoa hotels are not as luxurious as those found in the adjacent enclave. The peninsula is roughly 40 minutes by car from the airport and within easy reach of popular beaches like Sawangan's Geger Beach, where swimming and topless bathing are possible, and Kuta, the most popular beach on the island. The beach at Tanjung Benoa isn't much to write home about but visitors mostly come here for the cultural charm of the area, best enjoyed at Benoa village. Here, persons of multiple faiths live alongside one another, with a Hindu temple, a Chinese temple and a mosque within easy reach of each other. The village's harbour, a favourite docking spot of yachts and other small craft, is a pleasant spot to enjoy an evening stroll.
