Introduction to Bali - Pemuteran
On the popular island of Bali, the small village of Pemuteran - as famous for its beauty as for its conservation efforts - can be found. The artificial bio-rock reef is one of the main reasons tourists visit this part of Bali, as diving around the reef is a popular activity. Pemuteran has many diving companies who teach and supervise diving, all of whom are located in the main village. The sea in this area has outstanding visibility and it is possible to see all kinds of sea life. It is also possible to do other water-based activities such as fishing. The area is in close proximity to Menjangan Island, a national park, which is accessible by charter boat. In terms of dining, Pemuteran has some basic restaurants which sell fresh seafood cooked in a special Balinese way. At night, there is little to do but there are some bars spread out along the beach. Pemuteran hotels can be quite expensive although there are a handful of cheap bungalows for budget travellers.Visit our Bali Travel Guide
