The central mountainous area of Bali is among the island's most delightful areas. One of the region's best settlements to visit is the village of Bedugul. It sits upon the main route between northern and southern Bali, about 50kms from the city of Denpasar. Buses and car hire are often used by travellers to get to the village. It is recommended that visitors book Bedugul hotels before travelling here as accommodation can get full at certain times of the year. There are several important sites worth visiting in the village. The Bali Botanical Gardens, offering spectacular hikes and floral landscapes, are found close by. The gardens are one of the three botanical gardens found on the island. Manduk Waterfall can be reached quickly and is perhaps one of the most underestimated sites on the island.
