Introduction to Anyer - Bulakan
The care-free, Indonesian town of Bulakan, which is actually more like a village, sits some 10kms from the larger settlement of Anyer, on the western coastline of Java. It is home to only a handful of locals, but there are still some Bulakan hotels for guests to choose from when visiting the area. Surprisingly, considering the town's size, there are some absolutely breathtaking attractions in and around this little slice of paradise. Not surprisingly, the main highlight in the village is Bulakan Beach. Similar to other beaches along Java's western coastline, the beach here offers easy access to the many exotic marine animals and dive-able coral reef systems just offshore. Just to the northwest of the village is the island of Pulau Sangeang. This is a magnificent spot for tourists to discover, as it is basically an untouched, unspoilt and unbelievably serene bastion of natural jungle. Anyer Lighthouse, 45 metres high, is located just 10kms outside the village.
