The Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary: is located just outside the city, and is a wetland bird’s haven with resident flocks of ibis, egrets, cormorants, storks and spoonbill. Boats will take you around the river island for a relaxing and interesting trip.
The nearby Brindavan Gardens are part of the huge Krishnarajasagar dam that forms a 130 sq km lake. It is best visited in the evening when there is an impressive musical fountain light show.
GRS Fantasy Park: is Mysore's only Amusement park and is the perfect choice for families. The Park spreads over 30 acres with many thrilling rides providing entertainment for all ages. The main attractions are the water activities, amusement rides and the kid’s pool.
Devaraja Market: shoppers should head down to Devaraja Market on Dhanwanthri road. The century-old market is considered to be one of the best in India and there are separate sections in the complex for vegetables, fruits, flowers as well as some interesting stalls with pigments/dyes, incense and perfumes.
