By air: Goa’s international airport is located about 30kms from the capital city and handles many domestic and international flights on a daily basis. There are flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Lucknow, Kolkata and Cochin. International flights arrive from the UK, Germany and Kuwait.
By boat: from within India, it is possible to travel to Goa via boat. It takes about eight hours to travel from Mumbai to Panji. Many of the boats do not offer life jackets and the services can be disrupted during the monsoon season.
Tickets can be bought over the internet or at the train stations and be prepared as trains can get extremely hot and crowded.
By bus: there are daily buses running between Goa and Mumbai, Pune, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Karwar, Hampi, Mangalore and Hyderabad. Journeys can be long and buses can get quite busy.
