There are plenty picnic spots around Chennai where everyone can enjoy themselves amid beautiful nature.
Elliot’s Beach: is one of the most popular beaches in the Besant Nagar suburb of Chennai. Locals and tourists mingle on a white sandy beach and swim in the clear blue sea. As it is easily accessible from the city, Elliot’s Beach is an excellent place where you can unwind after a long hard day in the city. There are also many good picnic spots, so be sure to bring your own picnic.
Crocodile Bank: located near Guindy National Park, the crocodile bank features a wide range of Indian and African crocodiles and alligators. Visitors can observe these frightening creatures close-up. There is also a snake farm situated on the same premise, with daily demonstrations and shows.
Guindy National Park: is the only wildlife sanctuary in the city and is home to spotted deer, foxes, jungle cats and black bucks in the rich green jungle. It is the smallest national park in the country, but the only national park in the world that is located in the heart of a metropolis.
MGM Dizzy World Water Park: another addition to the fun parks, MGM Dizzy World is a huge water park located at Muttukkadu, en route to Mamallapuram. There are some fun-filled activites and rides such as Parachute Tower, Pirate Boat, Striking Boat, and a-110 feet Dizee Shake Challenger.
MGR Film City: if you have ever been to Universal Studios in Hollywood you may find this familiar. MGR Film City offers an Indian version of Hollywood’s famous attraction.
