Hotel Description
The Woodville Palace Hotel, Shimla, is a stunning ivy clad mountain estate dating back to the middle of the 199th century when it was used a colonial retreat by the former commander in chief of the Imperial Army. Nowadays it’s a luxurious getaway overlooking the foothills of the Himalayas, right in the centre of Shimla. This is an ideal base from which to do trekking, river rafting, excursions on horseback and nature walks, all of which can be organised from the reception desk. The bar features a 1930s Hollywood theme, and there is a restaurant that serves both Indian and international cuisine. Even the art on display is itself an attraction, boasting wonderful antiques from across the Orient. Rooms are huge, ranging from deluxe to the princely suite with a separate dining room.
