Introduction to Shimla - City Centre
Shimla is a small city in the north of India that was once known as the summer capital of the British Indian Empire. It is in the beautiful Himalayas and is a popular tourist destination for its natural scenery and old style colonial feel. There are plenty of Shimla hotels here to choose from, and the best of them are in the centre, close to such interesting and fun places as: Mall Road shopping area; the state museum, which is filled with exhibits and artefacts of the area’s history, including colonial times; and Christ Church, located at the top of the famous Mall, with a spectacular view. Many of the buildings in the city centre have a British feel.
