The UNESCO World Heritage listed Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is better known as Mumbai CST station or by it's old name of Victoria Terminus (VT), and is one of India's busiest railway stations as well as the headquarters of India's Central Railways. Trains from all over the sub-continent terminate here and it's the main transit station for the vast Mumbai Suburban Railway system. Located in the south of the city where the isthmus narrows, this massive and palatial Victorian Italian Gothic building dating from 1887 is a must-see in itself for visitors to Mumbai. The station lies at the edge of the Flora Fountain district's spectacular Fort area, the financial hub of the city, along with a number of CST Station hotels of various types.
