Introduction to Mumbai - Aksa Beach
Located east of India's largest city Mumbai, in the state of Maharashtra, Aksa Beach makes a welcome getaway from the hustle and bustle of the busy centre.

Still managing to avoid the vast majority of the millions of people that live in the metropolitan district, this quiet area of beach is one of the cleanest in the city.

It's a peaceful stretch of sand that, unfortunately, is dangerous for swimming due to the shifting currents and sands that make up the coastline.

However, nearby Dana Pani is safer and just a few minutes away on foot.

Away from the sand, Aksa Beach has an interesting Hindu temple that makes a pleasant walk, and there is an unexpected aeromodelling club a little farther inland which often attracts children.

Aksa Beach hotels are limited to a handful of mainly high-end resorts close to the water, with a full range of facilities in most cases.
