Introduction to Madurai, India
Madurai is a major city in the Tamil region of southern India and is perhaps most famous for being the Temple City of the country and also the host of the iconic Meenakshi Temple that is of significant importance to Hindus across the world. In order to reach Madurai, tourists usually fly to the local airport, which receives flights from all the top domestic cities dotted around the rest of India, or take the train. After this, they then check into their Madurai hotels that are available in a range of classes with differing prices. No matter where you end up in the town centre however, you can be guaranteed that most of the hotels in Madurai are within reachable distance for those that wish to enjoy the Meenashki Temple and other sites such as the Thirumalai Nayak Palace. While it is usually easy to arrange accommodation throughout the course of the year, be aware that hotels in Madurai can be incredibly full when religious festivals are being held.
