Introduction to Lavasa, India
The city of Lavasa, India may not yet be officially completed, but it is already recorded in history as India's first fully planned city and first hill station constructed since India became an independent country in 1947. This unique city was placed in the middle of southwest India along the Baji Pasalkar Reservoir in the Western Ghats, 180kms from Mumbai and 50kms from Pune. The many luxurious Lavasa hotels are already welcoming guests to this unique city whose brief history is fully told in a 3D experiential film at Lavasa Experience Zone, which also shows many other English and Hindi films each evening. This incomplete city now contains a games arcade, an adventure sports centre, and many nature trails through its surrounding green hills.
