Khajuraho is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the Madhya Pradesh region of India. This popular tourist destination is famed for the erotic carvings and statues on the temples of the city. The state of Madhya Pradesh could not be centrally situated on the Indian sub continent so travel to the region is easy with air routes from Delhi and rail transport from any of the large cities. Hotels in Khajuraho city centre are geared to serving the incoming tourist from all corners of the country and further afield. Most are closely grouped around the temple areas, but there are some of the less expensive Khajuraho hotels located along the main road and towards the railway station. With so many tourists coming here, the larger hotel chains have properties offering high quality accommodation, but low cost rooms are available.
