Introduction to Karwar, India
Karwar is a seaside resort on the west coast of India. It is situated at the point where the River Kali empties into the Arabian Sea. The town is popular with both local and international tourists, and boasts abundant Karwar hotels that provide comfortable rooms. Rabindranath Tagore Beach is adjacent to the town and many of the hotels in Karwar are either on the beach, or just at the back of it. On the north bank of the River Kali there are a couple of chic resort hotels. Staying near the beach is great for walking to eateries where legendary local dishes such as crab curry kurle ambat or mackerel masala bangada fry can be enjoyed. Hotels in Karwar are a great starting point for excursions to Goa, only 20kms north, the Western Ghats and Anshi National Park.
