Introduction to Karavali, India
Karavali, also known as Canara or Kanara, is a 300km long coastal region in the southwest Indian state of Karnataka. The region is further subdivided into three smaller sub districts along the Arabian Sea coastline called Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi. Most Karavali hotels are found either in the bustling port city of Mangalore or the ancient temple city of Udupi. However, many of its beach resorts are situated in or near smaller cities such as Karwar and Kumta. Gokarna is both a popular beach holiday destination and a pilgrimage centre for Hindus because of the large amount of temples in Gokarna. The dense jungles of the Western Ghats are also situated in this district, not far from Mangalore. Also just 12kms outside of Mangalore lies Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, which contains a golf course, an arboretum, an animal park, a water park, and a science centre. None of the several temples in Udupi are older or better known than the 800-year-old Udupi Sri Krishna Temple.other spellings: karavailhotels, karavlai otel, karaavli hotell, karvaali hote, kaarvali hotes, kraavali
