Introduction to Delhi - Airport
The busiest airport in India is set among a series of green spaces that visitors might not expect, given this is one of Asia's most bustling cities. Just one mile from the east side of the terminal building lies Aravalli Biodiversity Park, a beautiful expanse of green featuring replanted trees on an old mining site that makes an ideal destination for walking. The area can be tough on the legs in places as this hilly area is the start of the Arravallis, one of the oldest mountain ranges in India. Almost as close by is the Rajokri Protected Forest, which also features attractive scenery and opportunities for walking. Given Jawaharlal Nehru University is only one mile from the airport, this area is popular with students and features major cultural events such as Tastopia, a global food festival. Delhi Airport hotels are generally better value than those closer to the centre, meaning there are bargains aplenty.
