The small village of Dasada is an off-the-track travel destination right on the edge of the desert of Rajasthan. Most people come here for camel treks, eco-tourism resorts and a look at a more rural side to this popular Indian state. Despite being in the desert, Dasada and its surrounding terrain are surprisingly lush. Wetlands surround the Little Rann of Kutch Wild Ass Sanctuary, where travellers can stay in an eco-resort and experience the wildlife with a horseback or four-wheel drive tour. There is very little in the way of tourist amenities like restaurants, bars or shops in the village of Dasada. Most travellers eat at their resort and spend more time out in the desert than wandering around the town. Most of the hotels in Dasada are actually isolated nature resorts as this area is mainly used as a trekking tour destination. The nearest city of note is Ahmedabad, about an hour or so by train or road to the east.
