A little south Indian village with 5,000 or so residents set in Bangalore's rural taluk of Kanakapura, Kodihalli lies on State Highway 3, close to the ever-expanding metropolis of Bangalore. Located on the scenically beautiful Deccan Plateau, Bangalore's ancient temples, prehistoric sites and hill forts never fail to delight visitors to the region. The surrounding countryside is mainly agricultural and dry, with little irrigation. Kodihally hotels are located on the outer edges of the nearby city, between 20kms and 50kms from the village, and several five-star resorts can be found on Old Airport Road. The district of Kodihalli rather than the village spreads out towards the Beta World City of Bangalore itself along the Old Airport Road. Not yet appreciated as a major tourist destination, Bangalore is a treasure-house of magnificent buildings, palaces, a host of restaurants and eateries, gorgeous temples and lots to see and do.
