Ahmedabad Airport's full title is Sardar Vallebhbhai Patel International Airport - a mouthful for anyone but a local. It is located eight kilometres from the downtown district and its main rail station. The airport is one of the busiest in India, averaging 250 aircraft movements daily. Indian airlines include national flag carrier, Air India, and low-cost airlines IndoGo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet. Kingfisher also has local hubs here. The facility has three passenger terminals, two of which are domestic or secondary. The newer and largest terminal is international. Destinations served from the facility include major cities in North Africa, including Dubai and Doha, with Singapore Airlines flying regularly to Singapore, and Air India providing a service to New York's Newark International Airport. Domestic flights are served by mainly Indian low cost airlines. Ground transportation is by bus, taxi or hire car, with nearby Ahmedabad Airport hotels providing a convenient shuttle service when bookings are made in advance.
