Introduction to Reykjavik - Kvosin
Kvosin hotels put visitors at the centre of the action in Reykjavik. This is not one of the world's clubbing hotspots, so don't expect a Tokyo or New York style night out. On the other hand, the never-ending summer days lead to locals enjoying extended partying sessions at which tourists are welcome. The volcanic activity for which Iceland is famous plays a big part in local history, which is illustrated by a range of excellent museums in the district covering volcanoes, art and medieval history. This is also the location of Alpingi, the parliament. Though hotels in the area are very close to Reykjavik Airport, just to the south, this city airport handles few international flights. The main international airport is about 50kms to the east. Winter months plunge the capital into long, dark days, leaving locals with little to do but eat, drink and be merry, which means the district enjoys an excellent supply of restaurants, bars and clubs.Visit our Reykjavik Travel Guide
