Introduction to Keflavik, Iceland
Keflavik is one of the three parts that comprise the Reykjanesbaer district of southwest Iceland. Keflavik International Airport is situated immediately adjacent to the district, and is the principal air gateway to the island nation. Due to the proximity of the airport, there is an excellent selection of Keflavik hotels as well as travellers inns here. Passengers arriving on transatlantic or European flights can rest up at the hotels in Keflavik before heading to onward destinations in Iceland. The town’s harbour grew up around the fishing and fish processing industries. Quite a few of the hotels in Keflavik overlook the harbour and the sheltered bay it is sited on. Looking across the bay on a clear day, visitors can often see the unique snow capped strato volcano of Snaefellsjokull. Heading west from Keflavik, the Reykjanesbraut 41 route goes straight to the island’s capital, Reykjavik, only 45kms away.other spellings: keflavik otel, keflavik hotell, keflavik hote, keflavik hotes hotles in keflavik
