Holt Hotel Reykjavik - Reykjavik

This wonderful traditional hotel doesn't need to shout about its class and style.

The rooms are decorated in homely style with high quality dark wood furniture and pale pastel colour schemes, they have been regularly updated and maintained, so that although they aren't new, they are in good condition. As elsewhere in the hotel, all rooms have a number of pieces of original Icelandic art on display. The bathrooms are also in good condition.

The restaurant and bar at this hotel are steeped in tradition and have a wonderful atmosphere redolent of a fine gentlemens' club. The walls are lined with beautiful original paintings by Icelandic artists.

The lobby is cosy and homely with a polished granite tiled floor and warm red wool carpets.

Despite its grand reputation, the exterior of this hotel is surprisingly restrained with its dark grey facade and small unassuming entrance.
