The large Grand Hotel Reykjavik is an impressive landmark 14 storey glass structure, next to the Asmundur Sveinsson Sculpture Museum. It is just over 2 kms, around 25 minutes walk from the lively city centre. Alternatively guests can take a short 5 minute taxi ride or the three times daily hotel shuttle bus service into the city. This hotel has a massive lobby area with an adjoining bar, that is adorned with a lovely water feature and plenty of trendy red couches. The well furnished Grand Hotel Reykjavik offers luxury guest rooms that have been designed to a high standard and has a fine dining restaurant, complimentary wireless internet in the lobby and a full range of business and conference facilities.

The rooms vary in size but are mainly large and in very good condition as are the bathrooms. The rooms are spacious and open plan with light pine furnishings, large beds with brown covers to match the seating.

There is a large group restaurant on the ground floor next to a more intimate bar and bistro.

The lobby is large in size and is in an elegant area with white marble floors, separate green and pink seating area and a long reception desk with gold trimmings. There is a pleasant relaxed feel throughout.

The hotel has a very modern facade wtih red and grey wall panelling and is fortunate to be surrounded by grassy areas. The building resembles an apartment block but nevertheless is certainly not an eye-sore.
