Almost 500 traditional farmsteads once surrounded the central Hungarian town of Jaszapati. Today, only a handful of these farmsteads, known as tanyak, can be found near this town of 9,913 residents which lies just east of Budapest. A local peasant has preserved one of the farmsteads as it was centuries ago, and a fully furnished museum named Tanyamuzeum is located in the farmstead's backyard and has become one of Jaszapati's most popular tourist attractions. Thermal baths are another popular attraction here, and one of these baths includes one of the most impressive Jaszapati hotels. Many works by famous local artist Pal Vago are displayed throughout the town, but his most impressive masterpiece of all is the ceiling fresco inside the 15th century Roman Catholic church called Kisboldogasszony. The church's equally impressive organ, on the other hand, was constructed in 1893 by another famous and talented resident, Jozsef Angster, a renowned organ master.
