Introduction to Heviz, Hungary
Heviz is part of the stunning Lake Balaton region of Hungary, which happens to be one of the more important tourist regions of the country. However, this town is definitely not the average lake-front resort. It is actually a spa settlement and has been this way for many hundreds of years. Visitors from all over Europe have been flocking to this town and its lake, which supposedly contains medicinal healing capabilities, for centuries. They come seeking cures for various diseases and ailments. Today, Heviz hotels are mostly spa accommodation options. It is possible to experience the city on foot, with the spa facilities the only highlights of the town that are worth seeing. There is no train station in the town therefore visitors who are without car transportation need to catch a train to the nearby settlement of Keszthely then travel by bus to this intriguing spa town.
