Danubius Hotel Gellert - Budapest

The wonderful, listed building Danubius Hotel Gellert is located on the bank of Danube River, at the base of Gellert Hill. It is about a 15 minute pleasant stroll over the bridge to the famous shopping street, entertainment and historic building of the city centre or alternatively can catch a tram into the city, which stops steps from the hotel. Rooms are uniquely decorated in a traditional style and equipped with good facilities. The Hungarian Art Nouveau-style Danubius Hotel Gellert features stain glass windows and offers extensive range of spa facilities including a Turkish bath.

The Danubius Hotel Gellert was formerly known as the Gellert Hotel Budapest.

The rooms of the hotel vary considerably in shape, size, decoration, furnishings and style. All rooms are traditional and clean, some have new carpeting. There are three main styles of bathrooms. The oldest have floral tiles and archaic plumbing. The intermediate have 70's green tiling with old plumbing. The newest are tiled in white.

The restaurants are located on the ground floor and serve top quality cuisine.

The lobby is medium in size, very old, quite plain and jaded, with a large Persian rug in the centre.

This is a traditional building with a unique style for the city. Its appearance is in fact quite stunning.
