Introduction to Budapest - Belvaros
Hungary’s capital city, Budapest, is in the north of the country and is Hungary’s heart of culture, art and politics. This city is the most visited part of Hungary due to its huge amount of attractions and beautiful buildings, and there are a great number of Budapest hotels all across the city. Budapest Belvaros, also known as the Old Town, is located on the eastern side of the Danube River. The east banks make up Pest, and the area is home to such sights as the riverside parliament building, Ferenc Deak Square and St Stephen’s Basilica, all of which are in Pest’s Old Town. Staying in this area means only a short walk to the river banks and the Old Town’s best sights.
