On March 2011, Hungary's biggest airport was officially renamed Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport to honour the 200th anniversary of the famous Hungarian composer's birth.
However, many people continue to use the former name of Budapest Ferihegy International Airport, which welcomed over eight and a half million passengers in 2007.
Although there are no Budapest Airport hotels located directly on airport property, one hotel has recently opened next door to the airport, while many more are situated close by.
The airport's three terminals are named Terminal 1, Terminal 2A, and Terminal 2B.
Terminal 1 is only accessible by bus from the other two terminals, which are within walking distance of each other.
Most of the airport's shops, restaurants and cafes are situated at the Sky Court terminal, between terminals 2A and 2B.
It is easy to make the 16km journey between the airport and central Budapest by bus, taxi, rental car or the world's second-oldest underground rail network.
