The country of Grenada is composed of seven islands located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. The capital of the country, St George’s, is located on the main island of Grenada, with a population of just under 10,000 permanent residents. The country as a whole has over 110,000 inhabitants, and is referred to as ‘Spice Isle’, not only because of the many spices grown here, but also because of the festivals, parties, and dance celebrations honouring the culture and ‘spice of life’.
