Kos Travel Guide - Getting There

By air: Kos Island International Airport handles over 2 million passengers every year and is used by over 30 airlines, with a choice of routes to many European cities. It is the only international airport on the island and is 26kms from the town of Kos. There are two passenger terminals at the airport and they have the normal range of facilities you would expect.
The easiest way of reaching your final destination is by taking a taxi, available from outside the arrivals terminal. Alternatively, you can walk to the roundabout outside the airport gates and take a KTEL bus to Kos town, Mastihari, Kardhamena or Kefalos.
The services from Leros and Patmos enjoy the same frequency, but there are usually stops at other ports along the way. Departure times in both directions usually involve an early-morning arrival, meaning onward island-hops can involve some antisocial hours.
