The town of Kos is a fascinating maze of narrow lanes with many archaeological sites and significant structures sitting alongside modern developments and office blocks.
Antimachia: is located near the airport and has two well preserved Byzantine churches and an elevated Venetian castle that dominates the town.
The Castle of the Knights of St John: is one of the most stunning monuments that remains from the Venetian period. It has been well preserved and features medieval defensive architecture including a double wall and moat.
Sculptures by Alexandros Alwyn: can be found in the Garden of Hippocrates, opposite Dolphins Square. The internationally recognised painter and sculptor had a studio in Kos, in the village of Evangelistra.
