Kos Travel Guide - Activities
Beach: there are outstanding beaches all round the coast of Kos, but many of them can get busy during the peak periods. Some of the quieter beaches are just to the east of the town, mainly due to them being pebbled rather than sandy. There are some excellent views to be had and nearby, you will find some hot springs, where you can take a relaxing soak.
There are also some fairly quiet beaches on the south coast including Kamel and Magic Beach. The island's northern part is the place to head to if you like wind-surfing. Good choices are Tingaki and Marmara and equipment can usually be rented from the beaches. Elsewhere, you can have a go at water skiing, paragliding and Catamaran-sailing. A Diving Centre is located at Kardamena Beach and diving course are available for beginners.
Shop: Kos has an impressive choice of shops in the main town that are open seven days a week. You can find many souvenirs, jewellery, leather goods and some fine ceramics.
