This is a relatively small airport and as a result, passenger facilities are extremely limited. There is a branch of the Commercial Bank of Greece as well as a currency exchange booth. There are a small number of shops including a duty free shop general store and one restaurant. Since Heraklion also serves as a military airport, photography is strictly forbidden.
Transportation: public transport options from the airport are fairly limited. There is a bus service running from outside the terminal building to the city centre. This bus is timetabled to coincide with flight arrivals and departures with a journey time of around 20 minutes. Taxis are also available at the airport to take you to destinations around the island. Visitors are advised to establish the price with their taxi driver before starting the journey.
Parking: there is no problem with parking at Crete Heraklion Airport with both long and short-term parking available outside the terminal building. The vast majority of holidaymakers take shuttle buses to and from the airport, so there is usually no problem accessing the car parks should you need to.
