Beach: Athens has a number of beaches along the Apollo coast. Public beaches are run by Greece’s National Tourist Organisation and charge admission. They offer changing cabins, children’s playgrounds, water sports, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts and self-service restaurants. Public beaches include: Vouliagmeni, Paleo Faliro, Alimos, Voula, Varkiza, Alcyoni, Glyfada and Lagonissi.
Shopping: is a favourite pastime of both locals and holidaymakers. Ermou is the main shopping street in the city where you will find a variety of chain stores and various international outlets. Kolonaki is a more upmarket area that is brimming with designer boutiques and trendy cafes. More traditional items can be picked up in the Old City, in particular souvenirs in the Plaka and Monastiraki districts.
National Garden: is one of the best places to escape the frenetic scenes of the city and relax in beautiful surroundings. It once belonged to the king and is a tropical paradise in the middle of the city. You will find stunning pathways lined with flowers, two duck ponds and some ancient remains.
