Agia Marina Aegina is a popular destination for upper-middle class Athenians. It offers excellent swimming, stunning beaches and great shopping, as well as delicious Greek cuisine. It is located on the east coast of the island of Aegina, the closest Saronic Island to Greece's mainland. The island is only accessible by boat, with its main port being located in Aegina Town. However, there is also one port on the east side of the island found in Agia Marina Aegina and, as a result, there is a good selection of Agia Marina Aegina hotels. The island's main attraction is the beautiful Temple of Aphaea, which dates back to around 500 BC and it is located atop a mountain just outside of Agia Marina Aegina. The island is quite small, making it easy to visit all of the sights on this Saronic Island. A bus service is available that runs to most destinations throughout the island, including Agia Marina Aegina.
