Introduction to Santorini - Perissa
The small Greek island of Santorini, in the Aegean Sea, is a place of spectacular scenery, black sand beaches and strange volcanic landscapes. It is much more traditional and less developed than other Greek islands and is one of the best places to discover the true Greece. In the south of the island is the coastal town of Perissa. It is a quiet town with a number of good Santorini hotels along the seafront, meaning guests have just a few minutes’ walk to get to the beach. Many visitors flock to the area for its unusual yet beautiful beaches and surrounding mountain landscapes. Local bus routes pass close to Perissa, allowing visitors to explore more of the island, including historical inland Emporio with its old town, winding alleyways, traditional houses and the pretty Palia Panagia Church.
