The Greek beach resort of Kallithea on the eastern end of the island of Rhodes was originally constructed around a magnificent natural Italian spa with medicinal hot springs. Although the hot springs are currently not functional and undergoing a renovation process, there are still plenty of other reasons to visit the resort. The main Kallithea attraction these days is its beach with its emerald waters, where most Kallithea hotels can be found. Although the resort's nightlife isn't quite as lively as that of nearby Faliraki, there are nonetheless a good number of bars situated just steps from the beach. Visitors to Kallithea can book scuba diving times or splash about at the beach's water park. The closest ancient ruins to the resort are several Byzantine churches and the ancient Sarantapihos acropolis.
