Polis Grand Hotel - Athens

This property underwent an extensive refurbishment in 2004 and has been well maintained since with ongoing soft renovations each year, particularly in 2008. It prides itself on its attention to detail and personal touches. There are many pieces of art situated throughout the hotel portraying this. Great value in a very central location, this hotel is highly recommended.

Rooms are medium in size with a contemporary decoration in tasteful colours. The white marble bathrooms are well appointed and maintained to a high standard. Facilities include: flat screen satellite television, mini bar, telephone, safety deposit box (large enough for a laptop), double glazing to soundproof the rooms, air conditioning and hair dryers in bathrooms.

The main restaurant follows the contemporary theme of the hotel. It is painted in a cream colour giving it a bright feel, with pine furniture complemented by red and black soft furnishings. There is a selection of Greek and International dishes on offer. During the summer months, meals and drinks can be enjoyed in the roof top restaurant which commands superb views of the Acropolis and Lycabettus hill. The hotel also now boasts a brand new ground floor brasserie.

Medium in size, the lobby has a warm feel to it and offers some seating. The brasserie is just beyond the lobby.

This is a ten storey modern block with balconies on each floor, fairly typical of the area although more upmarket and better maintained than most of it's neighbours.
