Introduction to Pelion, Greece
The Greek peninsula of Pelion is considered to be one of the most picturesque areas in Greece. It is situated between Thessaloniki and Athens, close to the Greek city of Volos. Most Pelion hotels are located close to the beautiful sandy beaches; however you will also come across hotels in Pelion in the pretty mountain villages. Papa Nero Beach is one of Pelion’s most popular beaches. The sea around Papa Nero beach is calm and ideal for snorkelling. Many cafs and restaurants line the beach and close to the beach you will find many more Pelion hotels. Another popular beach in the area is Milopotamos Beach which is divided into two beaches by a large rock. Close to Milopotamos Beach is the pretty mountain village of Makrinitsa. The highest mountain village is Agriolefkes where you can go skiing during the winter months.
