Introduction to Paros - Naoussa
Paros is one of the Greek islands, located in the Aegean Sea around halfway between Greece’s mainland and Turkey. The town of Naoussa is on the island’s northeast coast and is a popular tourist resort with beautiful though rocky beaches, whitewashed homes and a busy marina. Paros hotels here are concentrated along the seafront, within a short walking distance of the marina. This family-friendly town of around 3,000 inhabitants offers a tranquil and relaxing holiday destination. Kolympithres Beach is the most popular in the area thanks to its clear waters and interesting rock formations. In the late 18th century the town served as a Russian naval base for half a decade though not much evidence of this Russian era remains. The town sees it highest visitor numbers in the warm summer months of June, July and August, with the winter season bringing cold weather and occasionally snow. Daytime sightseeing could include a trip to Kimissis tis Theotokou while nights can be spend enjoying the town’s lively bars. At just 10kms from Paprikia, it is possible to make excursions to the capital in just 10 minutes.
