Introduction to Kos - Tigaki
No beach on the Greek island of Kos, in the southeast Aegean Sea, is longer than Tigaki. This 10km long beach whose name is also spelled Tingati can be found just 10kms west of Kos Town, the most populated settlement on the island. There are over 25 Tigaki hotels, and most of them directly face this white sandy beach whose warm and shallow waters are perfectly safe for children to swim in. Another reason why Tigaki is such a popular beach is because of the regular northwest breezes, which provide both ideal conditions for adventurous water activities and respite from the beach's hottest summer temperatures. Tigaki's constant winds also create perfect sailing conditions. The service is relaxed at most restaurants here and the handfuls of bars in this community come alive at night.
