Introduction to Kos - Marmari
Marmari is one of the first seaside resorts visitors to the Greek island of Kos will encounter as they venture outside the town also named Kos. This picturesque beach and community, also frequently called Marmaris, is situated 15kms west of the town of Kos and four kilometres north of a village named Pyli, located on the island's north coast. Despite its small size, there are a handful of Marmari hotels and countless more tavernas, restaurants, and cafes. The main attraction here is the long, sandy, and flat beach situated next to another popular Kos beach called Tingaki. Although seaweed occasionally lines the shores of the beach, it is still generally clean and children can usually safely swim in the water. However, strong winds do occasionally create large waves and choppy seas. Marmari is easily accessible by car, motorcycle, taxi, bus and even boat.
