Introduction to Karpathos, Greece
Located between Crete and Rhodes, Karpathos is one of the attractive Greek islands of the Dodecanese. Only the island's southern region has experienced steadily increasing tourism and has the required facilities for a comfortable holiday. On the other hand, the northern part remains completely untouched, authentic and has various picturesque and traditional villages. The beaches around Karpathos's coasts are of stunning natural beauty, with some lying in picturesque, secluded coves and others stretching out for kilometres. All the beaches boast crystal-clear waters varying from turquoise to azure or emerald. Most Karpathos hotels are found in the south of the island and cater for tourists on all budgets. There are also a few hotels to be found in the central and north areas of the island. Nightlife on this peaceful island is relatively low profile. However, Pigadia Town, the island's capital, has lively bars and a few nightclubs.
