Introduction to Karditsa, Greece
Karditsa is a medium-sized town located in the western Thessaly region of mainland Greece. The town is characterised by the contrasting beauty of the northeastern plain and the massif in the southwest. Karditsa is a pleasant place, with visitors offered a variety of attractions. The mountain chains of Agrafa and Pindosare are perfect places to view the authentic nature in an environment full of rich vegetation and abundant waters. Possibly the most visited place in the area is Nikolas Plastiras Lake, which is widely considered one of the country's most beautiful places. The town itself is dominated by the historic Pausilypon Park, and there are several important neoclassical buildings as well as a town market. For those who enjoy keeping fit, this is one of Greece's most bicycle-friendly cities, with a large network of bicycle paths.
