Introduction to Ios - Mylopotas Beach
Mylopotas Beach is a popular resort that is located on the Greek Island of Ios, in the Aegean Sea. It was a popular stopping off point on the hippy trail during the 1970s and many of these travellers used to sleep on the beach. However, there are now plenty of Ios hotels here; Mylopotas Beach has developed into a mainstream package holiday resort. That said, Mylopotas Beach is still said to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the Aegean and offers a number of water sports, such as windsurfing and diving. As the island still attracts young partygoers, there are a number of economy Ios hotels. However, some of the one-star hotels in Ios are located by the beach and even offer services such as a free pick-up from the island’s port. Alternatively, there’s also a well-located four-star hotel at Mylopotas Beach that is within easy reach of all shops and tavernas. Ios doesn’t have its own airport; travellers can get here on a high-speed ferry from Piraeus, on the mainland.
