Introduction to Crete - Kokkini Hani
The community of Kokkini Hani was first established on Greece's biggest island of Crete during the early 1900s as a place where guests and their animals could enjoy meals or spend the night. Over a century later, Kokkini Hani is still a place where visitors can not only eat at numerous restaurants and stay at several Kokkini Hani hotels, but it provides dozens of other amenities along a beachside road which stretches for more than two and a half kilometres. Visitors can shop for groceries, purchase souvenirs, get their hair styled, seek advice from travel agents, use internet cafes and do a variety of other things during their stay in the community. Kokkini Hani's main attraction, however, remains its largest beach, which is 50m wide and 400m long, but it can get quite crowded.
