Introduction to Corfu, Greece
The Greek island of Corfu is part of the spectacular Ionian Islands, situated close to the Greek mainland. The island is the perfect place to enjoy family holidays, honeymoons, couple retreats and group tours, largely because there is such a wide range of things to see and do across the landscape. The beaches of the island are arguably the biggest attractions for tourists. There are Corfu hotels located along the eastern and western sides of the island, with the eastern side's calm waters lapping its mostly pebble shores and the western sides rougher waters caressing sandy beaches like Glifada. If tourists are interested in the human environment of Corfu's tourism sector then they can visit Nymphes, which is a small village that is supposedly home to the legendary nymphs that bathe in the waterfalls around the town. The traditional town of Kynopiastes is only a few kilometres from the main airport and contains marble mansions, an old monastery and the only museum on the island.
