Introduction to Corfu - Moraitika
Corfu Moraitika is considered to be one of the most scenic holiday destinations in the Adriatic. It’s located on the east coast of Corfu, around 25 minutes’ drive from Corfu International Airport. Although retaining much of its slow-paced original charm, it has seen an increase in development recently. The village consists of the old Ano Moraitika on a hill and the newer purpose-built resort area closer to the safe, shallow beach with its mix of sand and shingle. Visitors should take a stroll up to the old village where there are a number of excellent tavernas in the tiny streets among the flower-strewn houses. The views from the church of Theotokou Kimiseos are superb and behind are groves of olive trees. There are also some Roman remains to explore. Corfu hotels in Moraitika mainly cater to budget and mid-range travellers and most are within walking distance of the beach, where a variety of water sports are available.
