Introduction to Corfu - Kassiopi
Kassiopi is a large village in the far northeastern part of Corfu, popular with families and home to an abundance of 'British-style’ pubs and restaurants. These places might not be to everyone’s taste, but the village’s safe shingle beaches lead to some of the clearest waters on the Adriatic Sea. Apartments and hotels in Corfu are generally aimed at those on package tours, and those in Corfu Kassiopi are no exception. The village boasts a picturesque harbour area with an abundance of restaurants, cafes and tavernas. All types of cuisine are on offer. Restaurants in the summer season open until late and are child-friendly. Stunning views can be had from the ruined 13th century fortress overlooking the village - only the main gate and part of the walls remain. The village also houses a historic church containing an icon of the Virgin, the 16th century Panayia Kassopitra, which is host to a big annual festival in August. The village is conveniently located for those travelling by air as Corfu International Airport is just over 35kms to the south.Visit our Corfu Travel Guide
